It happens once a year without fail. As sure as death and Taxes… Girl Scout Season. As healthy as I try to be, when a little girl in a green uniform comes walking up to me all diet resolve is gone.. I am putty in their tiny hands.
This year I I decided rather than simply inhaling the box of Thin Mints in one sitting I would channel my love … err obsession of this food crack into something a bit more artistic… and well this Girlscout Thin Mint Martini was born. Warning if you are looking for a cocktail that is diet friendly well just scroll on over because this one is as sugar filled and decadent as its name suggests.
Thin Mint Martini
1/4 cup of mint simple Syrup
5 large Strawberries
1/4 cup of vodka
Approximately 5 Think mints finely crushed
Splash of soda Water
To make the simple syrup add 1 package of mint leaves to 1 cup of water and 2 cups of sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil constantly stirring to ensure that the sugar is completely disolved. When it comes to a boil turn the heat down low and allow to thicken. Place the syrup in the fridge and allow to cool.
Place the Raspberries and Strawberries in the shaker and muddle. Add the Syrup and muddle again. Add ice and vodka and shake for approximately 30 seconds or until the syrup has evenly mixed.
To coat the martini glass rim. Crush the Thin Mints and evenly spread it on a small plate. On a separate plate pour the simple syrup into a separate plate. Coat the rim of the glass in the syrup and immediately roll in the crushed cookies.
Pour the contents of the shaker into the two martini glasses and top off with a splash of Soda Water.
