In case you missed it, I am totally obsessed with Camille Styles Entertaining: Inspired Gatherings & Effortless Entertaining. After being inspired to whip up a few super easy Crostini creations, I began to get a bit thirsty. This recipe is just one of many delicious cocktail and food recipes Camille shares, and I cannot encourage picking up your own copy enough!
While this cocktail take a bit of planning, it is so worth it. I personally mixed it together the morning of a Broncos game, and by the time our friends arrived several hours later it was chilled and delicious! We even had a bit extra left over which I placed in a Mason Jar and sealed off for later enjoyment… and by later I mean Thirsty Thursday of course.
Spiked Pear Thyme Sparklers
Pear Infused Vodka
High Quality Apple Juice
10 fresh Thyme sprigs + more for garnish
1 cup of sugar
Several hours before your targeted serving time, create your own simple syrup by adding one cup of water to a sauce pan. Add one cup of sugar plus the 10 Thyme sprigs and bring the water to a boil. Allow the water to boil for about a minute or until the sugar is completely dissolved. Place in the refrigerator until chilled and remove the Thyme.
After the simple syrup has cooled, combine 3 cups of pear infused vodka plus one cup apple juice, one cup Thyme simple syrup, and 1 thinly sliced pear, and place in the refrigerator. Allow to sit anywhere from 2 hours to overnight- the more time the better it will really allow the flavors to infuse with each other. When it comes time to serve, simply fill your glass 2/3 rds and top off with soda water. Garnish with a Thyme sprig and a paper straw… because life’s too short to not have cute straws in your cocktail
