I will never forget my 1st trip to Aspen. We had just gotten engaged, and the glow of the love we felt was only made more magical by being in Winter wonderland. As I explored, the local restaurants and bars with my fiance by my side, I was in constant awe of the quality of food and cocktails. One particularly frigid night, we stopped into the J-bar, and it was there I instantly fell in love with my favorite winter cocktail. Spiked Apple Cider. While the J-bar’s recipe is kept under lock and key, I have done my best to recreate the cocktail at home. With a little bit of winter spice and a whole lot of sweet, this might quickly become your go to winter cocktail too!
Spiked Apple Cider
Apple Cider of your choice
1 shot of Tuaca
1 shot of Honey Tennessee Jack Daniels Whiskey
Pinch of allspice
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of cloves
Cinnamon stick for garnish
In a sauce pan, heat up approximately 6 – 8 ounces of your favorite Apple Cider, I used Martinelli’s . Mix a pinch of Nutmeg, Cloves, and Allspice into the boiling cider. Using a glass coffee cup, add one shot of Tauca, one shot of Honey Tennessee Jack Daniels Whiskey, and pour the heated cider into the mug. Using a Cinnamon Stick, stir until all liquids have been combined. From there, simply top with Whipped Cream and sprinkle with additional cinnamon.
I apologize for not having original pictures this week, the time change has not been kind to this working girl’s photo schedule!
