For the year and a half of wedding planning, my married friends warned me the day would go by too fast and as much as I tried to soak in every single second, they were right. Today marks six months of being Mrs Gracis, so I figured, there was no better time to take a walk down memory lane with you all.
When I met Grant I was 22, a week out of college and ready to take on the world. Finding the man I was going to marry was the last thing on my mind, I needed to change the world first. The moment I walked into my first day of work, I was hooked. There was something about him that I just had to be near. We quickly bonded over our love for our alma mater, USC, and eventually became best friends. As that fateful USC football season progressed so did our relationship. We decided on a whim to spend New Years Eve in Vegas. New Years Day 2012, Grant shockingly leaned over and whispered that he was “Madly in love”. Eleven Months later, we were back in Vegas for my 24th Birthday, and once again he shakingly grabbed my hand, only this time hegot down on one knee.
We started planning the wedding living in Los Angeles but almost immediately we re-located to Denver for Grant’s job, needless to say overwhelmed was the over arching theme of our lives at that time. We desperately wanted something that was 100% us something that highlighted both our personalities. This was a challenge, I was marrying a good ole mountain boy. And here I stood the LA native who had been dreaming of Cinderella dresses, glitter, and pink for as long as there had been a fairy tale. When we found Ponte, it was 100% perfection. It was glamorous yet understated. The nature aspect of the ceremony site was perfect for my soon to be husband, yet it was just over the top enough for me to pull off my vision.
When May 3rd finally arrived, it was more than we could have ever imagined. Planning an LA wedding from Denver offered more than its share of issues, yet the morning of everything was pure perfection. We wanted to ensure that from the moment our guests entered the courtyard they were handed a cocktail, welcomed with open arms, and from that moment on it was just a day full of pure love and fun.
Thanks for taking the time to step inside our fairytale day
